So lately I’ve been in a few situations where people in my life are going through a tough time, or a very busy time or a stressful time. And their behaviour has changed.

It is very easy to immediately think “what have I done wrong? Have I offended them somehow?”

But you know what? It had nothing to do with me. And everything to do with whatever it was that was that was happening in their life.

A dear family member passing away, extreme workload, financial stress.

We are only human. Some people wear their heart on their sleeve and you know exactly why they are behaving differently.

Others are more closed off and don’t like talking about their personal dramas. Instead they may seem more withdrawn, a little curt when they talk to you, forget to call you back.

Instead of jumping to conclusions and assume it’s because of you, try this: ask them if everything is ok.

Because I reckon more often than not it’s got nothing to do with you, and everything to do with life dramas for them.

And you may be able to actually help, by being a shoulder to cry on, an ear to listen, arms to hug.

If only more people can be more empathetic and help, rather than judge and bitch behind people’s back.

It’s a hard thing to do, to put your own personal feelings aside to ask if someone else is ok. But I assure you the outcome could very well be much more positive than you initially think.

Show love guys. Except if someone is just being a dick!!!! Haha!!
